A few SSAA members contributed to the "Ligne et Couleur" exhibition, XXXIII Esposizione Internazionale titled "Conflictus" and held at the Galleria La Vetrina in Venice. Situated in the shadow of the Venice Biennale, the small gallery on Fondamenta de la Tana provided a peaceful haven away from the crowds to exhibit the work of Architect Artists from around Europe.
In the catalogue, President of the Associazione Architetti Artisti, Ligne et Couleur, Lucia Lazzarotto, wrote;
"This year's theme, Conflictus, is as timely as ever. It has allowed the artists a wide range of interpretations according to their own aesthetic canons, while participating in a shared project and interacting with each other in an ongoing dialogue that integrates perfectly with the gallery space. This program, already used by the curators in previous editions, is inspired by the specificity of the Venetian spaces, which also contribute to the global vision. Each artist-architect had the opportunity to exhibit multiple works, given the interpretative nature of the title.
On the occasion of the XXXIII Exhibition, the "AAA Ligne et Couleur - Architect Artists" award is presented to architect-director Dario Biello, curator of the Italia Novecento series presented at the Venice Film Festival, recommended by Gabriello Anselmi, who had the opportunity to collaborate on one of the film's successes, and to our member, architect Loris Moscheni, a longtime member of the Association, who received a lifetime achievement award. We thank the artist-architects of Ligne et Couleur in Paris, Ligne et Couleur in Milan, the Scottish Society of Architect Artists, and other international artists who always welcome the entries with curiosity and enthusiasm.
This event takes place during the 19th International Architecture Exhibition, entitled Intelligens. Artificial. Collective, curated by architect-engineer Carlo Gatti, who commented: "To face the flames, architecture must be able to exploit all the intelligence that surrounds us." The are, sharing this thought, make it their own.
September is more magical than ever and renews the spirit of friendship between the peoples that make Moni di incontro, here as in other European cities, moments of cultural contrast and gratitude at the center of many events, and ours will be magnificent!"
Congratulations on a wonderful exhibition and many thanks to all those who were so hospitable to the visiting artists.
