Grant studied at the University of Edinburgh and has run his own architectural practice since 2000, focusing mainly on residential and church projects. He was awarded fellowship of the RIAS in 2008.
Although still working, he now devotes much of his time to abstract and landscape photography in which he has been recognised in several national and international competitions over recent years. Based in Edinburgh, his work is mainly from the UK and Scandinavia where he explores the mountains and coastlines to photograph both the wider vistas and the more intimate abstract details of the world around us.
